Mickey Hargitay was born in Hungary and won the Mr. Universe title in 1955. Today he is most remembered as the husband of Jayne Mansfield. They are the parents of American actress Mariska Hargitay.

I think his earlier career should’ve been greater and lasted longer. Or perhaps more properly put shouldn’t have had the 1970s lull in America. But he came back to renewed success. Like many man of his era Hunter remained an the closet to protect his career. It is good to know he’s found love and live openly.
